Each snack is symbolic for good luck its own way: Candied melon (good health and growth), lotus root (long life), coconut (intergenerational togetherness), Kumquat (prosperity), lotus seeds (family abundance), peanuts (long life), red melon seeds (joy and fortune). 「福」in the red cakes means ‘good fortune’.
